Thelen's Hartford, CT Office Completes "Operation Backpack"

'

HARTFORD (September 11, 2007 )—In “Operation Backpack,” Thelen LLP’s Hartford, Connecticut office provided back-to-school supplies for dozens of underserved area children.  Working together, attorneys and staff gathered a total of 73 backpacks, two boxes of supplies, and approximately $500.00 in donations.

Backpacks and supplies were distributed to schoolchildren on their first day of school via three local agencies: Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Village for Families & Children, and the Wheeler Clinic. Thelen also solicited and obtained the support of The Real Estate Exchange as well as Northland Properties, the firm’s landlord in Hartford.

“Everyone in Hartford contributed in one way or another to the incredible results we achieved,” said Hartford Office Managing Partner Norm Roos.  “It's what makes this office a wonderful place to work in.”

Thelen’s New York office also participated in a similar, early-childhood project, called “Education Gives Children Choices,” which provided backpacks filled with supplies for 175 students at PS 133’s Fred R. Moore Academy in Harlem.  (Click here for more information.)
