Thelen Consolidates Expanded Offices in Los Angeles and New Jersey

LOS ANGELES and NORTHERN NEW JERSEY (June 11, 2007)—Thelen’s greatly expanded presence in Los Angeles and Northern New Jersey, as a result of the firm's December 1 merger, has prompted the firm to consolidate attorneys into single offices in both markets. This consolidation is part of the firm’s overall effort to accelerate integration following the largest law firm merger of 2006.

In Los Angeles County, the firm will now house all its attorneys downtown in a newly-expanded office at 333 South Hope Street.  The firm recently completed the build-out of an additional floor in the Bank of America Plaza to make room for additional attorneys and staff.

In Northern New Jersey, the decision was made to locate all of the firm’s attorneys at legacy Thelen’s existing office in Florham Park.

Thelen Co-Chair Stephen V. O’Neal said the decision to consolidate offices in these markets was logical from the perspective of real estate value and firm integration.  “It did not make sense to have separate offices in the same markets once the merger was complete,” O’Neal said.  “We are one firm now and prefer to have our lawyers working in one office in each of our markets.”

Currently, the firm also houses its New York attorneys and staff in two locations, but plans to move everyone to its 875 Third Avenue location once additional space becomes available.
